MAKING YOUR VOICES HEARD IN WASHINGTON
Here is an open platform and an invitation to be heard in Washington, D.C, en mass.
The following is an email i received from Senator Nelson of Florida. It is self explanatory and he asks for input from the citizens of the U.S.
I will include his email, and mine to all my email contacts, and my personal suggestions to give you all some ideas for suggestions of your own. Please do not be offended by anything i have suggested, as these suggestions were not meant to personally attack any individual, group, political party, or religion.
THE OPEN EMAIL FROM SENATOR NELSON:
d.william:
Over the past few months, I've continued to push for solutions to help reduce the federal deficit and cut government spending.
Many of you recently offered your own ideas some of which I included in a recent op-ed I wrote for Politico. We also heard from Warren Buffett about that.
More recently, I've heard from former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan and a number of other widely respected economic experts, like Martin Feldstein, who was President Reagan's chief economic advisor. Each of these experts testified at a congressional hearing I called to explore how tax reform and closing loopholes can play a role in reducing the deficit. All said making the tax code more fair and eliminating some of the big special interest loopholes could reduce the deficit by trillions of dollars while providing tax relief for individuals.
If you'd like to know a little more, you can read a brief Reuters global news service report, below.
I'm sending the testimony and findings from the hearing to the new 12-member "super committee" Congress has created on deficit reduction -- and I hope they'll include tax reform. But I'd like your feedback, too.
To me, there's no mystery about what we have to do. In addition to more spending cuts, we need tax reform -- tax reform that includes closing loopholes and special interest tax breaks.
But I want to hear from you, too -- so click here to answer three short questions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Bill NelsonGreenspan urges tax reform in debt cut effort

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan called for tax reform to be part of an urgent effort to put the U.S. economy back on track."Tax reform is a major part of any fiscal reform. It will contribute to a restoration of American competitiveness and the vibrant economy that goes with it," he told a Senate panel.
Criticized widely for mistakes when he was the nation's top central banker, Greenspan is not nearly the economic hero he once was, but his counsel is still sought on Capitol Hill, and it was gloomy at a Senate Finance subcommittee hearing."There is no credible scenario of addressing our current fiscal problems without inflicting economic pain," he said in testimony prepared for delivery to the panel.
"We have been procrastinating far too long in coming to grips with the retirement of the baby-boomer generation, a fiscal problem that has been visible for decades."
Greenspan called for reforms to the Medicare health program for the elderly and the Social Security retirement pension program.
He endorsed tax and entitlement reform recommendations made last year by the White House's bipartisan Bowles-Simpson commission. "What impressed me most of Bowles-Simpson is that it addresses tax expenditures," Greenspan told the panel.
Tax expenditures -- otherwise known as loopholes and subsidies -- should be targeted for reform, he said.
Democratic Senator Bill Nelson, chairing the hearing, agreed. "A launching point for getting our fiscal house in order should be an overhaul of the federal income tax," he said.

MY EMAIL I SENT TO ALL OF MY EMAIL CONTACTS:
OK EVERY ONE HERE IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD BY A POLITICIAN THAT IS ASKING FOR YOUR INPUT. PLEASE DO NOT BE SHY, THIS IS YOUR COUNTRY AND PROBABLY YOUR ONE CHANCE TO SPEAK OUT AND VOICE YOUR OPINIONS. IT WON'T COST YOU ONE CENT AND WHO KNOWS YOU MIGHT JUST HAVE THE ONE SOLUTION THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS MISSED. I AM ATTACHING MY SUGGESTIONS TO GIVE YOU SOME IDEAS. PLEASE DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD IN WASHINGTON!!!!
THANKS IN ADVANCE - d.william
MY SUGGESTIONS FOR SENATOR NELSON:
1. Stop wasteful earmark spending.
2. Start taxing religious institutions as they are nothing more than businesses that expect representation without taxation.
3. Tax the corporations as individuals since that is what the supreme court has declared them to be.
4. Put politicians in the social security system just like all other American citizens. It is ridiculous for a one term politician to get high cost retirement benefits for life.
5. Stop paying for insurance benefits for politicians out of taxpayer money.
6. Ease the tax burdens on SMALL businesses as they are the true back bone of the economy.
7. Pass a new law banning huge conglomerations that drain the economy by pocketing their excessive profits, and allow smaller companies to grow and be more equitably competitive.
8. Legalize marijuana and tax it like every other product. (This would also decrease the government money spent in jailing people for using it).
9. Legalize prostitution and tax them as well.
10. Stop the GOP from using tax payer money for pursuing their agenda of destroying President Obama. (fighting insurance reform, fighting DADT, fighting to continue to discriminate against the gay community, etc..).
realistically we know that nothing will ever get done unless there are also laws passed to stop the attacks on the president while he/she is in office. These kinds of attacks are nothing short of treason.
Congress needs to grow a set, and get things done for a change instead of spending all their time campaigning against each other for the next years elections.
Please feel free to click on the links to Senator Nelson and add your suggestions for lowering the deficit. As i stated in my email to all my contacts: "THIS IS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD BY A POLITICIAN IN WASHINGTON".
Seize this moment to be heard.
