Can Legalizing Prostitution Increase Tax Revenues!? Will it benefit or hurt our Economy?

Does man have the right to mandate their own views of morality on society?

The age old profession that will never be exterminated.

A wonderful source of tax revenue is going untapped.

Websters dictionary definition of prostitute/prostitution:

• 1. To offer sexual favors indiscriminately for money.

• 2. To devote to, corrupt or unworthy purposes.

• 3. A person who deliberately debases himself/herself or her/his talents for money.

How can one meaning of a word be illegal and the other meanings be legal? Prostitution in any form must be either legal or illegal. I don't understand how can it be both. Do you?

The world sees women, or men, who sell sex for money as repugnant and prosecute them under the law. And yet there is a continued demand for their services all around the world.

Recognizing and legalizing this need as a valid and sought after service for so many customers, would increase tax revenues by billions of dollars each year.

Legalizing, the illegal version would mean that the 'vendors' of this valuable service be licensed, and taxed, as any other legitimate business is.

Also required, in order to continue with that license, the vendors would need to be tested for STD's (sexually transmitted diseases) every 3-4 months.

Everyone would be happy - except - and there is always an exception

- those self appointed moralists that already wish to control everyone else's life by mandating morality to meet their own limited and narrow beliefs.

The already legalized version of prostitution

We allow prostitution openly as an accepted practice by the majority of all our politicians.

This is a fact.

There are very few elected officials that do not deliberately debase their talents and/or defy the public interest by selling their 'services' to special interest groups (big business, religious entities, The NRA, Monsanto, etc..).

Their deliberate devotion to corruption and other unworthy purposes, are no different than those that they passed laws against and throw others in jail for on a regular basis.

And i would assume, not nearly as pleasurable. {Except, of course, from what that money they get paid, can buy.}

They get paid big bucks for doing the very thing that they would condemn others for:

Selling their services to the highest bidder.

I guess it is just that old 'double standards' thing again.

The politicians are doing the exact same thing that we throw others in jail for - except they do their screwing with their pants on - most of the time anyway.
