Advice for Cleaning your House

my solutions for:

Hoarding, sorting your clutter, cleaning your closet, cleaning your house-

Getting rid of those useless things. (and yes, including your spouse)-

Before you begin, take a deep breath, be strong, don't 'whine' -

Instead, pour yourself a big glass, or two, of your favorite 'wine' -

Ten (10) simple questions to ask yourself -

About that clutter sitting upon that shelf -

That stuff hanging around - just collecting dust and dirt -

Who knows from whence it came, even that never worn shirt -

Things you trip over every day, just laying around the house -

To that useless lump, taking up space on your couch.

Now ask yourself:

1. Does it have a purpose? yes____ No_____

2. When was the last time you used it and will you ever again? yes____ No____

3. Is it practical? yes____ No____; is it impractical? yes___ No___

4. Is it useful? yes___ No____; or just taking up space? yes___ No___

5. Any potential for immediate or future use? yes___ No____

6. Will its value increase by keeping it? yes____ No___

8. Is it costing you more to maintain it than it is worth? yes___ No____

9. Is it giving you some kind of pleasure, or positive feedback? yes___ No____

10. Can you sell it, or even give it away as a gift? yes___ No____

If you answer more No than yes , then go ahead and dump it.

Then pour yourself some tea, or wine, and have it with a crumpet.

Why oh why is it that whenever I throw something out, about two weeks later I find that I could have used it!!! Great poem. Amber:)

Thanks for commenting. And isn't that the truth, you can keep something hanging around for years, but as soon as you discard it, you need it. LOL.

Somtimes if you get rid of the spouse you won't need to clean the house. :)
